AT&T wanted to find a more effective way to have their employees engage with the community through mentoring and volunteering opportunities. With an optimistic goal of reaching 1 million hours, they needed a platform dedicated to action.

WEBSITE DESIGN

STARTING AT THE TOP

To begin the project, we started with the home page. As shown, the original lacked organization and flow. For non-registered users, we removed the clutter and made the experience about the benefits of mentoring. Our goal was to show how easy it was to participate by highlighting the many opportunities that are within a close distance. We also included a brief quiz to help the user decide which type of mentoring opportunities would best fit.

DRIVING ACTION THROUGH COMMUNITY

There were two main themes throughout the planning of the new website, access and community. We wanted to not only show how accessible it was to volunteer, but also that there are other team members already in the program. By including an activity feed, driven by other local volunteers, and featuring people registered for events, we wanted to show that it was a community effort and no one is alone.

RESULT

1,000,000 Hours

After launching the new platform, AT&T and its employees reached their 1 million hours in less than nine months.
